Recipe – BBQ Thai Garlic Shrimp

One simple & easy way to cook Shrimply is by ‘tossing it on the barbie’. Simply marinate the whole fresh shrimp for about 30 minutes, then place right onto the BBQ rack. If the rack is spaced too big for the shrimp, spread out tin foil, a banana leaf or BBQ mat.

1/4 cup soy sauce

1 tablespoon fish sauce

6 to 8 cloves garlic (minced)

Garnish: 1/2 cup fresh coriander

1/4 cup oyster sauce

2 tablespoons brown sugar

1 tablespoon lime juice

Garnish: 1 lime (cut in wedges)

  1. Mix sauce together, marinate whole shrimp in sauce for 30 min.
  2. If the shrimp are large enough that they won’t fall through the grates, place directly on the grill. Spread tin foil or banana leaf down first if grates are too big.
  3. Grill 3-5 minutes each side, baste the first time you turn them with leftover sauce. They are done when the flesh is pinkish-white and shells are bright pink.
